Volunteer Opportunity: Teach beginning quilting

I am looking for a quilter who would be willing to volunteer to help a group of women learn how to quilt?
Action for Healthy Communities is interested in setting up a Syrian refugee women’s group to learn quilting.
A group of the women was shown a small quilt and none of them knew what quilting was. They all wanted to know how to do it and became very excited at the possibility.
Apparently quilting is not a craft that is known in Syria.
There is a space to work available on the north side and there would need to be some consultation on materials needed.
Many of the women refugees are lonely and this would be a wonderful way to build community.
They don’t speak much English but a translator would be available at the sessions. They are thinking maybe weekly quilting parties.
Thank you for any advice you might have.
Best regards,
Marilyn Scott
