Dear FFAA Guild Representatives,

We apologize for the short notice, please share the following with your members.2020: Future in Focus Competition has been judged and we are preparing for tonight’s virtual opening gala to be broadcast on Facebook Live at 7:30 pm this evening (July 19).The exhibition has been installed in the new Focus on Fibre Art Studio in Strathearn Centre, and it looks terrific!

Please notify your respective guild members of the hours for in-person viewing from Monday July 20 through Monday August 31, 2020, as follows:

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday – 10 am – 4 pm
Friday – 2 pm – 7 pm
Saturday – 11 am – 3 pm
Sunday and Monday – by appointment please check our website shortly for more information.

You do not need to make an appointment, if there are more than10 visitors in the facility you may be asked to wait a few minutes. We will have a reception desk to help you.

Note that we are following the health protocols set out by Alberta Health Services. All visitors are recommended to wear a mask (some are available as needed) and the number of visitors allowed in at any one time is 10 people. We will also be following physical distancing of 2 meters.

Also, we are asking, if possible, for you to provide copies of your guild’s promotional cards or other print materials for display at the exhibition. We have acrylic holders for these and lots of space to display them. We anticipate many visitors, this is a great opportunity to promote your guild.

There will be opportunities during the exhibition for artist talks and for demonstrations of fibre art techniques.  More information will be posted on our website and Facebook site and distributed via email.

We are truly pleased to open our 2020 exhibition in the new Studio and look forward to welcoming all FFAA members to Strathearn Centre, 9532 87 Street, Edmonton AB.  There is free parking in front; a map is linked here for your convenience.
