The end of April was busy distributing quilts that have collected at my house. Three went to Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHPCanada.ca), four large quilts went to St Vincent De Paul Charity and the rest to the North of 60 Project. Many more baby blankets and other items were taken directly to Linda Tutt’s garage by guild members so a lot of comfort will be heading north to Ulukhaktok in the sea can.
Just a reminder that the Community Service Committee has batting and backing fabric if you need some to complete a charity quilt. Give me a call with measurements and I can drop off or you can pick up at my house. This winter we had four long arm quilters complete charity quilts for us: Don Mooney, Lois Miller, Joy Hansen and Cathy Schulze. Their contribution is much appreciated. If anyone else would like to quilt, long arm or domestic, I have four more tops at my house.
Stay safe everyone. Quilting is something we can do at home to keep ourselves safe and still provide lots of comfort to a crazy world.
