Community Service Update — May 2022

We would like to thank the staff of Trapunto for welcoming us to your classroom when we were bumped out of the FFAA Studio on our April sew day.  We accomplished a lot in spite of the short notice.  We found out after the fact that it was Prime Minister Trudeau who took over the space and we did receive an email from his office as follows:

“The Prime Minister’s Office very much appreciated you arranging your schedule to accommodate the visit to ACUA; they also extended their thanks to your organization for being so flexible.”

The kids who participated in dyeing eggs with PM Trudeau had a wonderful time.

Our members have once again given so much.  Through Community Service Committee we sent 3 quilts to Sleep in Heavenly Peace, 7 quilts to Basically Babies, 6 quilts to ACUA for displaced Ukrainians, and 17 quilts to St. Vincent de Paul Society.  Some will be given to people in our region, and some will go to the North of 60 Project.  I know several other charities have benefited from members delivering quilts directly. Thank you to everyone!

Our sew days continue on the second Tuesday of the month.  If you know of an urgent need for a quilt, please let me know, and If you have a charity that needs quilts, please forward the information.
