June 2022

AGM, Prairie Rose Challenge Show and Guest Speaker

For June, our speaker is Yvonne Bilan-Wallace: “Finding Creativity – Adventures Picking Weeds during Isolation”.

Our June meeting is also the AGM (Annual General Meeting), and a presentation of the annual members’ challenge, the Prairie Rose Challenge Show!

The annual challenge is hosted by our past chair and this year the theme was “The Beauty of Diversity”. While some members are excited to get involved, many feel that these challenges are well beyond their “comfort zone”.

Yvonne Bilan-Wallace is a supportive and encouraging guild member who regularly helps members try different techniques outside of their “comfort” zone. Her positive support led many of the “Coffee Bee” members to participate in the creation of a self-portrait “faces” project. These faces were combined in a quilt that was presented to Myrna Purser, in gratitude for her leadership of the “Coffee Bee”. Yvonne has shared her learnings from classes she has taken through a presentation to the “Coffee Bee” during the past year as well.

Yvonne is excited to present to all the guild members her expanded story of creative adventures picking weeds during isolation.

Many members will be inspired and encouraged to consider participating in the Prairie Rose Quilt Challenge in the future after hearing Yvonne’s presentation.

Come see all the amazing interpretations of our challenge.
