Library Update May 2023

Lots of Library news! First: LIBRARY BOOK LIST on the WEBSITE. Just like the Guild Newsletter, the Library Book List has been moved to the public side of the EDQG website. No need to log in to the website to see the list of books in the guild library. The List has been updated, just no pictures of the books with this update.

QUILT BOOK SALE NEXT MEETING! Prior to the COVID-19 years, the library would have an annual book sale of donated books we couldn’t use in the library (older books or books we already had) and older and not used books pulled from the library collection. The money raised bought new books for the library. We are ready to have another sale! Priced to go at $1.00 (paperback), $2 (hardback), and $5.00 (some special books). Bring some cash to add some wonderful books to your collection!

For our last raffle of the season, we are featuring two books that were donated to us, that we already have in the guild library:

Sunday Morning Quilts: 16 Modern Scrap Projects: Sort, Store, and Use Every Last Bit of Your Treasured Fabrics, by Amanda Jean Nyberg and Cheryl Arkison. I love these fun, breezy patterns, and the author’s take on quilting!

Quilt with Tula and Angela: A Start-to-Finish Guide to Piecing and Quilting Using Color and Shape: 17 Quilt Patterns and 47 Quilting Motifs, by Tula Pink and Angela Walters. Tula and Angela, what could be better! Autographed by our donor, Darlene H.

In April our Raffle Books and Winners were:

Season to Taste: Quilts to Warm your Home all Year Long, by Jessica Dayon, Martingale, 2020. Winner: Fran P., ticket #836910.

Patches of Blue: 17 Quilt Patterns & A Gallery of Inspiring Antique Quilts, by Edyta Sitar, Martingale, 2017. Winner: Angela S., ticket #912144.

9 New Books were purchased for the library. I will list them in the June Newsletter.

And finally, April was the last month to borrow books from the library for this season. Please return the books you have borrowed at the May meeting. You can tell it is a guild library book by the hot pink label on the spine. Thank you for supporting the library!
