Library Update – October 2023

Welcome to new and returning EDQG members!

It was great to see everyone at the September meeting.  The library was there with a selection of books and our raffle.  The raffle raised $150.00.

For September our raffle books and winners were:

All Things Quilting with Alex Anderson won by Bonnie H., green ticket #412188.

Quilter’s Project Planner: Everything You Need to Dream, Plan & Organize 12 Projects won by Marjanne G., green ticket #412257.

In October our raffle books are:

The Little Ghost Who Was a Quilt, by Riel Nason, Tundra, 2020.  I was first introduced to this adorable children’s picture book while I was browsing the children’s book section at Chapters.  The person next to me said I always include this book when I give a baby quilt.  I was intrigued!  Riel Nason is a Canadian novelist and textile artist.  She has written two quilt related books, Modern Selvage Quilting, and Sew a Modern Halloween.  In this book “the little ghost who was a quilt has an experience that no other ghost could have, an experience that only happens because he’s a quilt…and he realizes that it’s OK to be different.”  Perfect for gift giving or reading to your child or grandchild!

The Big Book of Quick-to-Finish Quilts: 54 Fast, Fun & Fabulous Projects by That Patchwork Place, 2021.  I love the Big Book series!  54 quilt patterns, many different styles, by many well-known quilt pattern designers.

Check out the new Library Information on the Guild Website.  Thank you to Charlene for implementing this update on the website!  Click on Library in the listings on the top of the main website page.  Colour pictures of New Books have been included, past Newsletter submissions, and the list of our Library books.
