Library Update – February 2024

For our February meeting we are bringing library book box #12 from the storage locker, with titles starting with the letter S, Scrap, String, Strip…

Check out our Book Titles List on the EDQG website under Library to see all the books we will be bringing.  You can also request any book from our book collection by clicking on the “Shopping Cart” feature or contacting me via the library email.

Members can borrow up to five books for a one-month period.  If you are not finished with your book, you can renew it for another month.  If you can’t make a meeting to return your book, please contact me at library@edqg.ca so I can keep track of the library books.

Books can also be picked up or returned at Trapunto Quilt store, or at the Community Service days at the FFAA site.

For February our raffle books are:

The Big Book of Favorite Scrap Quilts: 44 Colorful and Cozy Patterns, by some of your favorite designers, published by Martingale, 2022.  Martingale went out of business in 2023, so this is probably the last Big Book collection.  Purchased at Trapunto.  This book has also been purchased for the EDQG library.

Journey to Inspired Art Quilting: More Intuitive Color & Design, by Jean Wells, C&T Publishing, 2012.  I try to present two different styles of books for each book raffle.  Perhaps this book reminds me a bit about the Improv quilting presentation at our January meeting with color, design, and inspiration.  This is a donated book.  This book is also in our library collection.

The winners of our January raffle books were:

Here Comes Winter: Quilted Projects to Warm Your Home, by Jeanne Large and Shelley Wicks, Martingale, 2014, won by Terri G., green ticket #412711.

Scrap School: 12 All-New Designs from Amazing Quilters, by Lissa Alexander, Martingale, 2021, won by Donna C., green ticket #412764.

The January raffle raised $113.00 to purchase raffle books and new books for the library.
