Festival of Quilts 2025
Nov 2024
Mark your calendars for the EDQG Festival of Quilts 2025!
June 6th & 7th
Honour the Past, Embrace the future
Our committee has made good progress this month. As mentioned at the guild meeting,we have landed on a theme: “Honour the Past, Embrace the Future”. A review of quilt categories has been completed, and with some revisions, is ready to go out to our guild membership. We have secured two judges for the show, we have reached out to potential vendors, and follow-up is currently underway. The vendor contract has been updated and undergone review, and will soon be ready to post as we sign up vendor participants forour show. We have undertaken to put out a request for bids to 3 pipe and drape suppliers to ensure we are getting the best product, service and price. We’ve added talent to our publicity team with graphic design and social media experience, and they are working on our public facing print and electronic media materials. (We will work with Charlene toattach to our Guild website and Facebook pages.) We’ve found a presenter to host a trunkshow/breakfast, and to provide two learning sessions for registered attendees. We’ve been working with the facility to clarify our requirements’ flooring, ramps to the floor surface, electrical, mic/sound system upstairs and on the floor surface, wifi for vendors, access for loading and unloading, parking etc. We’re very pleased with the willingness ofthe facility to assist us to make this event successful!
Upcoming...
In the next month we will focus on finalizing the above, and will engage with the food provider onsite to negotiate pricing for a breakfast, and food and beverages for our volunteers, judges and attendees. We’ve got a solution for the construction of ribbons, a teacher and volunteers to make them. We’ll confirm our supplier bid, and hopefully start signing up vendors.
