Library Update – April 2025
Author: Sandra P.,
Library Chair
Thank you to the supporters of our library raffles, which raise funds to add new books to the library collection.
Library Book Raffle tickets are $1.00 for a single ticket, or $5.00 for 6 tickets. The money raised goes to purchasing new books for the Library.
I have been library book shopping and have spent all of our raffle proceeds on new books for the Library. This time I went out to Quiltessential in St. Albert, and with the help of Susan and Ingrid, I purchased thirteen new books. Quiltessential donated five more books. Thank you! To finish the spending, two more books were purchased at Quilter’s Dream, for a total of twenty new books!
Click the button below to see the list of new book titles. (They have also been added to the Library Catalogue.)
“Sewing is a way to mark our existence on cloth: patterning our place in the world, voicing our identity, sharing something of ourselves with others, and leaving the indelible evidence of our presence in stitches held fast by our touch.”
– Claire Hunter – Threads of Life: A History of the World Through the Eye of a Needle, 2019.
For our April book raffle, the two book prize titles are:
Zero Waste Quilting: 38 Projects Use Every Scrap with Style, by Patty Murphy.
Love Jelly Roll Quilts: A Baker’s Dozen of Tasty Projects for All Skill Levels, by the Editors of Love Patchwork & Quilting.

April is the last month of the season to borrow books from the EDQG Library. In May all books are returned, and an inventory of the books is completed in the summer.
Check out the website under the Library tab for more information on the Library and our Library Book list. To request books, log into the website and use the Library Shopping Cart feature.
We receive many donations of quilting magazines and books. The magazines are available for you to take home on our Free Table. The books are added to our collection or saved for our annual book sale in May.
Happy Reading and Sewing!
