Yarn Donation Request

Dear Edmonton & District Quilters’ Guild,

I hope this message finds you well!

My name is Courtney Higgins, and I’m reaching out on behalf of the Art Gallery of Alberta. We’re currently working on an upcoming exhibition titled Tied Together, which explores the theme of connection through textile-based art.

As part of this exhibition, we’re collecting yarn donations from across the community—any colour, size, texture, or quantity—to be incorporated into a collaborative installation that celebrates creativity, craft, and the spirit of coming together.

Given your Guild’s deep connection to fibre arts and the quilting community, I wanted to see if you or any of your members might have extra or leftover yarn that you’d be willing to donate. We’d be so grateful for any contributions, big or small, and we’re happy to coordinate pickup or drop-off to make it easy.

We’d also love if you’re open to sharing the call for yarn with your members—every strand helps us tell a bigger story.

Thank you so much for considering this request, and for the incredible work you do to keep Edmonton’s textile arts community thriving.

Warm regards,
Courtney Higgins (She/Her)
