Library Update – March

2024

For our March meeting we are bringing library book box #13 from the storage locker, with titles starting with the letters SM, Stack, String, Strip…  Check out our Book Titles List on the EDQG website under Library to see all the books we could be bringing.

You can also request any book from our book collection by clicking on the “Shopping Cart” feature or contacting me via the library email.  Members can borrow up to five books for a one-month period.  If you are not finished with your book, you can renew it for another month.  If you can’t make a meeting to return your book, please contact me at library@edqg.ca so I can keep track of the library books.

Books can also be picked up or returned at Trapunto Quilt store, or at the Community Service days at the FFAA site.

For March our raffle books are:

Urban Quilting: Quilt Patterns for the Modern-Day Home, by Wendy Chow, Paige Tate & Co., 2021.  Wendy is an Aussie modern quilter and pattern designer based in New York City.  She has a blog called the.weekendquilter   This was such an interesting book for me, different from most of the other books I choose.  There are 10 different modern patterns in this book with 3 different size options available.  Purchased at Trapunto, and available in our library.

Two-of-a-Kind Quilts: 12 Scrappy Designs That are Double the Fun, by Lissa Alexander and Susan Ache, Martingale, 2022.  Two scrap-quilting specialists interpret six concepts and come up with completely different quilt patterns.  They explain their ways of designing patterns and choosing colours.  Plus, their machine quilters give tips on how they interpret the design and finish the quilts with remarkable quilting.  Purchased at Johnson’s Sewing Centre/Quilter’s Dream, and available in our library.

The winners of our February raffle book were:

The Big Book of Favorite Scrap Quilts: 44 Colorful and Cozy Patterns, by some of your favorite designers, published by Martingale, 2022, won by Susan J., green ticket #412807.

Journey to Inspired Art Quilting: More Intuitive Color & Design, by Jean Wells, C&T Publishing, 2012, won by Kathy L., green ticket #412816.

The February raffle raised $139.00 to purchase raffle books and new books for the library.  Thank you for your support.
