An Experience for your Members: Cloth, Cooking, and Culture In Italy
Hello Edmonton and District Quilters’ Guild
I have a fabulous retreat called Art Cloth: Eco Printing and Natural Dyeing that involves cloth, cooking and culture at Il Baciarino in Tuscany, Italy that I think your members would love.
I’m a Canadian artist living now in Italy. I remember with fondness my days with my fellow guild members – I was a member of three different fibre related guilds and I loved the exchange of ideas and opportunities between knowledgeable and talented women. Italy doesn’t have the same guild structure. So I’ve had to create other opportunities to spend time with other amazing fibre artists. And I’d love to share one of these opportunities with you and your guild members.
I run a 10 day ecoprinting and natural dyeing retreat that teaches how to create your own unique cloth for quilting, sewing, or other works of art by using leaves and natural dyes to make exciting natural colours and prints. You’ll go home not only with a terrific collection of cloth you created onsite, but also the knowledge of how to do this yourself once home.
The retreat includes cooking classes, a walk on the beach, lunch in an olive grove, wine tastings, and other cultural excursions. It’s cloth, cooking, and culture all rolled into 10 beautiful days in Tuscany.
I’m offering this retreat:
- October 19 – 29, 2025
- May 8 – 17, 2026 or
- October 30 – November 8, 2026
The cost of €1975 (~$2350 USD) includes all meals and drinks, trips and tastings, tools and materials, a binder of information, instruction, and pick-up and drop-off to the Grosseto train station.
Accommodations are onsite and they range 60€- 130€ a night, depending on which you choose.
Attached is a flyer with all of this information.
I look forward to hearing from you,
Chandra
