Library Update – Oct 2025
Author: Sandra P.,
Library Chair
The autumn season is upon us, and perhaps it is time to start a new quilting project or finish a “UFO”. Our raffle books for this month celebrate “all things quilting” and scrap quilts.
All Things Quilting with Alex Anderson: From First Step to Last Stitch, by Alex Anderson, 2015. Every technique you wanted to know, all in one book!
No Scrap Left Behind: 16 Quilt Projects That Celebrate Scraps of All Sizes, by Amanda Jean Nyberg, 2017. We all have scraps; here is a great book for using them up in fun patterns!
The book raffle proceeds go to purchase new books for the library. Last month we raised $174.00. Thank you for your support.
“Sewing is a way to mark our existence on cloth: patterning our place in the world, voicing our identity, sharing something of ourselves with others, and leaving the indelible evidence of our presence in stitches held fast by our touch.”
– Claire Hunter – Threads of Life: A History of the World Through the Eye of a Needle, 2019.
For the October meeting we will be bringing the book bin with book titles starting with the letter “N”.
For a complete listing of our library books, look at our library catalogue on the EDQG website under Library. You can request a book by logging into the website and clicking on the Shopping Cart feature. The books requested will be brought to the next guild meeting. If you are not attending in person, arrangements can be made to get the books to you.
