Help requested: wool quilt

Good morning,
I’m exploring the options for either restoring or recycling a wool quilt that my grandmother made in the 1960s and a family member hasn’t maintained properly. The muslin cover is still intact but the wool is lumpy and if my grandmother or mother were still alive, we’d be cleaning and carding the wool and remaking the quilt. I know the Guild makes quilts for the needy but perhaps one of your members can offer some advice on my options? I’ll happily make a donation to the Guild in thanks.
