Library Update – February 2026

Author: Sandra P.,
Library Chair

Our February library book raffle books are quite exciting.  The first title was recommended to me by Cheryl, who is one of our library committee members.  If you would like to recommend a book for the guild library or the raffle, just let me know at the email listed below.

Crack the Colour Code: Add Drama to Your Designs Using the Secrets of Color Interaction, by MJ Kinman, 2025.  Hot off the press and signed by the author!  Everything you want to know about colour.  Purchased at Johnson’s/Quilter’s Dream, Southside location.  A copy was purchased for the library.

Quilt As You Go: A Practical Guide to 14 Inspiring Techniques & Projects, by Carolyn Forster, Search Press, 2022.  Lots of interesting projects including a Korean Pojabi style quilt.  Purchased at Johnson’s/Quilter’s Dream, Southside location.  We have a copy in the library.

The book raffle proceeds go to purchase new books for the library and the raffle books.  In January we raised $191.00.  Thank you for your support.

“Sewing is a way to mark our existence on cloth: patterning our place in the world, voicing our identity, sharing something of ourselves with others,  and leaving the indelible evidence of our presence in stitches held fast by our touch.”

– Claire Hunter – Threads of Life: A History of the World Through the Eye of a Needle, 2019.

For the February meeting we will be bringing the book bin with titles starting with the letter “R”, plus another selection of newly donated books that have been added to our library collection, and more newly donated magazines for our free table for you to take home and enjoy.

For a complete listing of our library books, look at our library catalogue on the EDQG website under Library.  You can request a book by logging into the website and clicking on the Shopping Cart feature.  The books requested will be brought to the next guild meeting.  If you are not attending in person, arrangements can be made to get the books to you.
