Library Update – April 2026

Author: Sandra P.,
Library Chair

April is the final month to borrow EDQG library books for this season. All books are to be returned at the May meeting, and in the summer the library committee will do another sort and inventory of the books, and a culling of the older and/or not used books, to make room for our new books.

Yes! I went quilt book shopping and spent our raffle proceeds! I kept my buying local, and visited Quiltessential, Quilter’s Dream, and Lori’s, where I purchased a total of 29 new books!

Thank you for supporting our raffles so we can buy new books. The March raffle raised $206.00!

Here are the titles for the April book raffle:

Quilting Modern: Techniques and Projects for Improvisational Quilts, by Jacquie
Gering and Katie Pedersen, Interweave Press, 2012.

String Fling: Scrappy, Happy and Loving It! by Bonnie K. Hunter, Kansas City Star
Books, 2012.

These books were donated to the library. We also have copies of both books in the library.

“Sewing is a way to mark our existence on cloth: patterning our place in the world, voicing our identity, sharing something of ourselves with others,  and leaving the indelible evidence of our presence in stitches held fast by our touch.”

– Claire Hunter – Threads of Life: A History of the World Through the Eye of a Needle, 2019.

For the April meeting we will be bringing the library book bin with titles starting with the letter “T”, plus more donated magazines on our free table for you to take home and enjoy!

For a complete listing of our library books, look at our library catalogue on the EDQG website under Library.  You can request a book by logging into the website and clicking on the Shopping Cart feature.  The books requested will be brought to the next guild meeting.  If you are not attending in person, arrangements can be made to get the books to you.
