2025 Expanding Horizons

Glynis Wilson applied for the EDQG Expanding Horizons Grant in 2025 with the goal of expanding her quilting skills by learning how to use a long arm quilting machine.

In her presentation this month, she will walk through her history as a quilter and the two quilts she completed with the help of the grant. She will share her reflections on what she learned, other techniques she tried and why she wanted to try long-arming in the first place.

Glynis is a devotee of many crafts and hobbies in addition to quilting, and approaches all of her creative work with an eye to exploration and experimentation. She recently returned to quilting after a long hiatus, and has been finding ways to fit it into her creative practice amongst her other hobbies, the demands of daily life and parenting a two year old.
