BOOK SALE!!
Bring your cash to pick up great quilt book titles at the Library Book Sale at the May meeting!  We have received many donations of great quilting books that we either already have in our collection, or they are a bit older, or we just do not have room for in our storage area.  These books will be sold for a nominal price: $1.00 for soft cover books and $2.00 for hardcover.  The money raised will go toward buying new books and library supplies.

Library book borrowing has ended until the September meeting.  Please return all of your EDQG library books to the May meeting.  How can you quickly tell you have an EDQG book on your shelves…there is a bright pink piece of tape on the book spine (plus a label on the book that says Property of EDQG).

Thank you for supporting our raffles so we can buy new books.  The April raffle raised $142.00.

Our last book raffle until September will be held at the May meeting.

Here are the titles for the May book raffle:

New York Beauties & Flying Geese: 10 Dramatic Quilts, 27 Pillows, 31 Block Patterns, by Carl Hentsch, C&T Publishing, 2017.  Purchased at Johnson’s Sewing Centre/Quilter’s Dream.  There is a copy of this book in the library.

Sunday Morning Quilts: Sort, Store, and Use Every Last Bit of Your Treasured Fabrics, by Amanda Jean Nyberg and Cheryl Arkison, Stash Books, 2012.  Donated.  We have a copy of this book in the library.

“Sewing is a way to mark our existence on cloth: patterning our place in the world, voicing our identity, sharing something of ourselves with others,  and leaving the indelible evidence of our presence in stitches held fast by our touch.”

– Claire Hunter – Threads of Life: A History of the World Through the Eye of a Needle, 2019.
