Library Update – October 2026
Author: Sandra P.,
Library Chair
The EDQG library book collection listing is available for browsing on the guild website under the Library heading. Charlene, our Webmaster, has updated the list to include all the books added to the library over the past year. The Shopping Cart feature lets you request books. Usually requested books are brought to the guild meetings to sign out. As we are not meeting in person for a while, this option is not available. Arrangements could possibly
be made to pick up books, perhaps at the community service day, or we can wait until we meet in person again to borrow books.
At the end of August, the Library Committee met to complete the library book inventory.
Thank you to Cheryl M. and Marie P for again braving the comforts of the guild storage locker facility to help with the inventory. We removed several older and unused books (but still interesting books for the right person) which will be offered for sale at our next book sale.
“Sewing is a way to mark our existence on cloth: patterning our place in the world, voicing our identity, sharing something of ourselves with others, and leaving the indelible evidence of our presence in stitches held fast by our touch.”
– Claire Hunter – Threads of Life: A History of the World Through the Eye of a Needle, 2019.
