Library Update – January 2025

Author: Sandra P.,
Library Chair

Our November meeting was again busy with many members and guests coming to the meeting in person.

Library Book Raffle tickets are $1.00 for a single ticket, or $5.00 for 6 tickets. The money raised goes to purchasing new books for the Library.

“Sewing is a way to mark our existence on cloth: patterning our place in the world, voicing our identity, sharing something of ourselves with others,  and leaving the indelible evidence of our presence in stitches held fast by our touch.”

– Claire Hunter – Threads of Life: A History of the World Through the Eye of a Needle, 2019.

Our January 2025 Library Raffle books are:
  • The Best of Jelly Roll Quilts: 25 Jelly Roll Patterns for Quick Quilting, by Pam & Nicky Lintott, David & Charles Publishers, 2023.
There are so many different patterns in this book, I am sure there is one that will be perfect for that Jelly Roll just waiting in your stash!
  • Quilting with Kids: 24 Fun and Easy Projects to Make Together, by Wendy Sheppard and Gwendolyn Sheppard, Landauer Publishing, 2020.
Even if you don’t have a young person to share this book with, it would be perfect for sharing with a friend who is just learning to quilt, or for an easy project for yourself.

Check out the website under the Library tab for more information on the Library and our Library Book list. To request books, log into the website and use the Library Shopping Cart feature.

We receive many donations of quilting magazines and books. The magazines are available for you to take home on our Free Table. The books are added to our collection or saved for our annual book sale in May.

Happy Reading and Sewing!
