Grace Rumbold Quilting Fund

As many of you know, the Rumbold family have decided that they would like to donate funds to the EDQG in honor of Grace Rumbold. They have already donated to many causes that meant so much to Grace including Camp HeHoHa, the Edmonton Symphony, NAIT and in 2025 they added $50,000.00 to the EDQG scholarships at the U of A. They also donated $500,000 to the U of A for the Textile Conservator Endowment.

In the summer, I met with Arnold and Dave and was presented with a cheque in the sum of $4,000.00. This money will be used for our first event which will take place at the 2027 Edmonton Quilt Festival and will be used in securing guest speaker(s) for that event.

By the end of this year, it is the intent of the Rumbold Family to donate a further $100,000.00 to the EDQG through the Grace Rumbold Quilt Fund. These funds will be received, invested and managed by the Edmonton Community Foundation. Annually, the EDQG will receive a payment of approximately 4.0% ($4000), being the interest earned on the $100,000.00 investment. So long as the EDQG exists, they will receive these funds annually, again, for the purpose of securing speakers for an event to be held in the Edmonton area. (The signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) stipulates that the event could be held annually or biannually.)
