Library Update – February 2025
Author: Sandra P.,
Library Chair
Our January meeting was again busy with many members and guests coming to the meeting in person.
Library Book Raffle tickets are $1.00 for a single ticket, or $5.00 for 6 tickets. The money raised goes to purchasing new books for the Library.
“Sewing is a way to mark our existence on cloth: patterning our place in the world, voicing our identity, sharing something of ourselves with others, and leaving the indelible evidence of our presence in stitches held fast by our touch.”
– Claire Hunter – Threads of Life: A History of the World Through the Eye of a Needle, 2019.
Our two book choices for the February book raffle are:
Hand Sewing: A Journey to Unplug, Slow Down & Learn Something Old, by Becky Goldsmith. Tying in with our slow stitch demonstrations at our meetings, this book is a lovely read on hand piecing, quilting, applique & English paper piecing.
A New Twist: Turn 6 Easy Blocks into 12 Colorful Quilts, by Nancy Mahoney. These beautiful, colourful quilt patterns are sure to make you happy.

Check out the website under the Library tab for more information on the Library and our Library Book list. To request books, log into the website and use the Library Shopping Cart feature.
We receive many donations of quilting magazines and books. The magazines are available for you to take home on our Free Table. The books are added to our collection or saved for our annual book sale in May.
Happy Reading and Sewing!
