Library Update – March 2025
Author: Sandra P.,
Library Chair
Thank you to the supporters of our library raffles, which raise funds to add new books to the library collection. In February we raised $188.00. Time for a book shopping trip.
Library Book Raffle tickets are $1.00 for a single ticket, or $5.00 for 6 tickets. The money raised goes to purchasing new books for the Library.
“Sewing is a way to mark our existence on cloth: patterning our place in the world, voicing our identity, sharing something of ourselves with others, and leaving the indelible evidence of our presence in stitches held fast by our touch.”
– Claire Hunter – Threads of Life: A History of the World Through the Eye of a Needle, 2019.
The Library Raffle books for March are two wonderful books featuring quilts made with your scrap collection:
Scrappiness is Happiness: 32 Scrappy Quilts to Fill your House with Love, by Lori Holt.
Scraps, Inc., Vol. 1: 15 Block-Based Designs for the Modern Quilter, compiled by Susanne Woods.
“Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without!” A quote from Lori Holt’s Grandparents. If you have been looking at your fabric stash and thinking it is time to use it up, perhaps a pattern in one of these books will inspire you!

Thank you to one of our members for showing me a newly published book I plan to get for the library and the raffle. It fits in with our theme of reuse and recycle:
Zero Waste Quilting: 38 Projects Use Every Scrap with Style, by Patty Murphy, C&T Publishing.
Check out the website under the Library tab for more information on the Library and our Library Book list. To request books, log into the website and use the Library Shopping Cart feature.
We receive many donations of quilting magazines and books. The magazines are available for you to take home on our Free Table. The books are added to our collection or saved for our annual book sale in May.
Happy Reading and Sewing!
