Book sale! Book Raffle! Return library books!
May is a busy month for the EDQG Library. In May all library books should be returned, so we can organize and do an inventory of the books in the summer. Check your shelves for any of our library books. They have a hot pink tape on the spine to help you identify them.
“Sewing is a way to mark our existence on cloth: patterning our place in the world, voicing our identity, sharing something of ourselves with others, and leaving the indelible evidence of our presence in stitches held fast by our touch.”
– Claire Hunter – Threads of Life: A History of the World Through the Eye of a Needle, 2019.
We also have our last book raffle of the season. These are the book titles for the May raffle:
Rock Solid: 13 Stunning Quilts Made with Kona Cottons, compiled by Karen M. Burns
Sooo Big! Baby Quilts: 33 Adorable Designs to Sew for Little Ones
“The raffle books were purchased at The Cloth Castle in Langford (Victoria), BC, while I was on vacation there”.
And it is time for our Annual Book Sale! Included in the sale are donated quilting books that we cannot use in the library (or we already have), plus older library books that we are removing to make room for new quilt books. All books will be sold for a nominal cash fee, so come and check out the selection!
Happy Reading and Sewing!
