Library Update – Sept 2025

Welcome Back!

Welcome back to a new guild season, and if you are like me, a time of renewed enthusiasm for finishing projects or starting new ones!  The EDGQ Library is here for you as a source of inspiration and instruction.  Members can borrow books from the guild library of over 500 books on quilt related topics.  Take a look at the library page on the guild website and request a book or browse the selection of books we bring to each meeting for you to borrow.

A Library Book Raffle is held at our monthly meetings.  The money raised goes to purchasing new books for the library.  We offer two quilt related books as prizes each month.  Tickets are $1.00 per ticket, or 6 for $5.00.  The prize books for September are:

  • Piece by Piece: 20 Modern Patchwork and Quilting Projects to Make From Preloved Fabrics, by Lauren MacDonald, 2025.  Lauren was one of our Endowment Fund recipients and has since gone on to a career involving textiles in the UK.  Check out her website Working Cloth.
  • Quilts From The House of Tula Pink: 20 Fabric Projects to Make, Use and Love, by Tula Pink, 2012.  Tula = Fun!

“Sewing is a way to mark our existence on cloth: patterning our place in the world, voicing our identity, sharing something of ourselves with others,  and leaving the indelible evidence of our presence in stitches held fast by our touch.”

– Claire Hunter – Threads of Life: A History of the World Through the Eye of a Needle, 2019.
