Library Update – March 2026

Author: Sandra P.,
Library Chair

I am so excited (relieved) to finally see March on the calendar and the thought of spring returning this month.  Maybe your enthusiasm for new projects or skills has arrived with the thought of spring.  Here are our titles on offer for our March library book raffle to tempt you:

Love Jelly Roll Quilts: A Baker’s Dozen of Tasty Projects for All Skill Levels, by the Editors of Love Patchwork & Quilting, Stash Books, 2020.  The quilt photos in this book are so colourful and springlike, I am sure you will be inspired to make a new quilt to celebrate spring!  Purchased at Johnson’s/Quilter’s Dream, Southside location.  There is a copy in the EDQG library.

Stitching Pathways: Successful Quilting on Your Home Machine, by Wendy Sheppard, Landauer Publishing, 2017.  This book is filled with tips and great photos for quilting on your home machine.  Purchased at Johnson’s/Quilter’s Dream, Southside location.

The book raffle proceeds go to purchase new books for the library and the raffle books.  In February we raised $140.00.  Thank you for your support.

“Sewing is a way to mark our existence on cloth: patterning our place in the world, voicing our identity, sharing something of ourselves with others,  and leaving the indelible evidence of our presence in stitches held fast by our touch.”

– Claire Hunter – Threads of Life: A History of the World Through the Eye of a Needle, 2019.

For the March meeting we will be bringing the library book bin with titles starting with the letter “S”, plus more donated magazines for our free table for you to take home and enjoy.

For a complete listing of our library books, look at our library catalogue on the EDQG website under Library.  You can request a book by logging into the website and clicking on the Shopping Cart feature.  The books requested will be brought to the next guild meeting.  If you are not attending in person, arrangements can be made to get the books to you.
